What format are the photos in?
All My Islands Philippines And Beyond photos are in JPG format.
Do you add photos on a regular basis?
Yes. We add photos as they are taken. Click on "Newest Photos" to see the latest photos that we have posted.
Can I submit photos to sell?
Right now the only photos that we sell are the ones taken by members of
http://www.myislandsphilippines.net photo sharing site. If you wish to upload photographs here, please register at My Islands Philippines (myislandsphilippines.net),
upload at least ten photos and once you satisfy this requirement, you
can come back here and register to sell Philippine-related photographs.
Do you offer refunds? Once your purchase is made we can not offer a refund. The reason for this policy is because we offer full access to our entire digital collection of photos and, as such, there is no way for our products to be returned. On a rare occasion we will make exceptions on a case by case basis.
Are there any restrictions on my use of the My Islands Philippines And Beyond photos that I download?
Yes. While My Islands Philippines And Beyond offers great freedoms and a wide ranges of uses, we do not allow the redistribution of our photos, or allow the use of our photos within products that are mass distributed in any type of archive format.
If I purchase a subscription are there any other fees I will encounter when downloading from the site?
No, an unlimited membership allows you full access to download any photos on our site at no extra charge.
Is account sharing allowed? No, sharing an account is no different than distributing our materials to others. Individual accounts must be purchased by your friends and colleagues.
I bought a subscription, but it says I'm not activated, what do I do? On rare occasions our merchant processors may not send the information of your transaction to our system, so your account may not be automatically activated. Therefore, if you have made a purchase of our yearly subscription and you are not able to access photos My Islands Philippines And Beyond using your details, send a support request.
PHOTOGRAPHERS GUIDELINES
How do I sell my photographs
(1) You have to be a member first of My Islands Philippines (myislandsphilippines.net) and need to post at least ten photographs there.
(2) As soon as you satisfy this requirement, register here as a photographer (free).
Once your registration is validated, log on to your account.
3) At the welcome site, you can add photos, edit your profile, edit your photos for sale and view your sales
What are your technical guidelines?
Before uploading, you must be sure that the image is your own work and you must own the copyright upon everything within it. Photographs to be posted in Philippine-relaed categories must be Philippine-related (or can be applied to the Philippines).
Here are the technical requirements:
- images must be in JPG format
- images must be 3 MP in size or more (about 1500 x 2100 px, 300 dpi minimum), larger sizes are better (but slow to load); preferred size is 3750 px or more at its longest dimension (12.5" or more); aim for 300 dpi 3000 px x 3000 px
- please resize your photo to 12.5" at its longest dimension saved at maximum (12) quality (if using Photoshop ®, use bicubic smoother for enlargement, bicubic shaper for reduction)
- do basic post processing like color correction and removal of color cast but DO NOT SHARPEN!!!
- images must be saved at the highest JPG quality (12) and in RGB color profile (sRGB or Adobe RGB).
- images less than 3 MP in size will either be not be approved or will be deleted (if already online) or sold only for web use or for free download (as the software will not display it for sale at higher resolutions
- images must be in 8-bit color depth
- no recognizable people are included in the photograph; if there are, submit a jpg scan of a Model Release form together with the submission, indicate for which photograph the MR is for
- no recognizable commercial images - label, logo, characters from cartoons or movies must be contained in the photo
- private properties (such as interior of a house, house exterior, restaurant, etc) must also be accompanied by a property release
- art work by others, cars like Ferrari® and Porsche®, Harley Davidson® motorcycles, Coca-Cola® bottles, some new buildings, new sculptures are and may be protected by copyrights and are not accepted
- don't upload offensive materials like explicit nudes, drugs, people in offensive positions, racism
- keywords are important for search but key in only relevant words; as much as possible, key in at least eight (8) words
- descriptions are also important, so be more explicit in describing your image, more than one word
- !!! IMPORTANT !!! When uploading, please choose LOCATION category first as the primary category, then choose other categories as secondary
- If location is not important (eg studio shots, macro etc.), then choose the most appropriate category that the photograph belongs to.
- We generally accept all submissions but everything is checked for appropriateness and photographic quality (good composition, no sensor dust, no grain unless part of the composition and processing, no pixelation, small size, etc.) before approval.
- If a photograph were sold outright (sell the rights), please remove the photograph in the catalog as well as any other sites that you have control.
